Sternum Lifter 4.0 (double cable machine)

Ok, so here is a new variation of "Sternum Lifter" that I came up with a few days ago. Basically this one is much like the 3.0 version but may be a little easier to perform as long as you have a double cable machine (probably at the gym).

I recommend that you read trough the text; the 3.0 version which can be found on this blog. Please make a comment and tell what you think about this one.

  1. Thanks for posting helpful exercises again Bjorn. I've been doing a variation of the 'sternum lifter' exercise but with dumbbell pullovers (mainly because I only own one dumbbell). It definitely seems to help if I do it once a week maximum. Also I would warn people that sternum lifting exercises caused me a small injury by pulling a ligament in my chest. This is sore but I guess it means that it stretches the ligaments and costal cartilage...right?

  2. All exercises are potentially harmful. I will say again as I have done here before; be very careful with exercises. I recommend starting with the arms only in the beginning an then start with small weights or small rocks that you can hold in your hands. I will also write again that whats seams to be the best thing to do is; long walks (zero drop and focusing on the posture in the beginning.

  4. I just came across your blog and it seems great. Do you have any before and after photos of your PE, and how much time did it take you to improve it with the methods mentioned in here? Thanks in advance..!

  6. PZ: I only have my x-ray photos which are stored in the archives of the Swedish state. It took me about one year to improve it 80%. The progress then slowed down. Today it's around 90% improved. I just follow my ergonomic program and the sternum is in its place around 90%. Temporarily I have reached 95% but it is difficult to keep this permanent. For me, PE is not a problem anymore and my motivation to fight it very hard isn't there anymore. But I think that it improves right now just at a very slow pace and most importantly, it doesn't get worse.
